Baker & O'Brien was formed in Bundaberg in 1975 when David Baker joined forces with David O'Brien. The firm gradually expanded over the next decade to the point where, due to demand, the firm's premises were expanded and in early 1990, Glen Toll joined the firm as a practising Solicitor from the Brisbane firm, Morris Fletcher & Cross. In 1991, Glen became a partner and the firm in its current format, Baker O'Brien & Toll was established. The firm's premises doubled in size in 1992. The firm underwent further rapid expansion and in 1993, Chris Rowe joined the firm from his practice in Brisbane with the firm Hopgood & Ganim. Chris established a niche in the area of Family Law, an area in which he is now Bundaberg's longest serving Accredited Specialist. Chris joined the practice as a partner in 1995 and has continued to excel in all areas of Family Law. Further progression and expansion occurred along with growth in the Bundaberg Region to a stage where further paralegals and support staff were employed and trained and in 2003, Ken Martin completed his Graduate Diploma training with the firm and thereafter became an employed Solicitor with the firm in 2004. Ken joined the practice as a partner in October 2007 now making a practice comprising 5 partners and 15 full-time support staff including paralegals, law clerks and secretarial staff. We also have 3 part-time staff who are provided with flexible working conditions due to family and other dictates.
